Back to Montana, and some sad times.....................

I know it has been awhile since we have blogged, lots has been going on......................

We arrived back to Montana on April 24th.  We got all set up and our first day back to "work" here are the resort was May 2nd.  In between we did some mountain biking..........................

and not just any mountain biking, this was probably one of the most challenging places that we have ridden.  Almost straight up (Cardiac Stress test x 10), and then almost straight down.  As you can see by the pic, the view from the top was awesome.

We also took the Jeep on a run up Hell Roaring Road.  The rumor is, is that you can take trails all the way over the top of the mountain to the next valley.  So off we went..........

It was a beautiful day !

The view was incredible !

Artsy shot......

But the trail got too narrow for further exploration and we had to turn around and come back.  We are going to try to get the Jeep club to try it as a group with the proper trimming tools later this summer.

In the middle of May my Mothers health had started to decline rapidly.  Most of you know that she had been fighting Alzheimer's disease for quite a few years.  Not only does this disease mess with your mind, it also starts shutting down other parts of your body too.  She lost her battle on May 22nd.  My Father had just come home from church where he said he prayed for the Lord to take her home and end the suffering.  He had dinner with my Brother and after dinner they went to check on her and she had passed away peacefully.  We made arrangements to fly home on the 24th for the funeral, and what a funeral it was.  The out pouring of Love and Support was overwhelming.  From the flowers....

to the entire Howell Fire Department showing up for a Full Dress Walk through, Which I believe is usually only for fallen Fire Fighters, but they made an exception.  It was something to see.  Fire Trucks parked up and down the street and 40-50 of my Fathers fellow Firemen showing up to show their support.  Makes me tear up again just typing this.......................

May she rest peacefully..................... she may be gone but she will never be forgotten..............

Hear are some cool shots of her when she was younger............................

Looks like she was a model for a car ad !

A teenager at the lake.............

Fortunately one of the other host couples at the park had asked us to trade a shift and we had 21 days off, so we stayed in Detroit for a bit helping get some things in order and spent some time with my Father.  Let me just say a few things about Dad.  He was a Saint through this whole ordeal.  As her main care giver he did everything in his power to make sure that she got the best of care and attention.  With the Help of an Angel named Tammy, the two of them got a routine down and did twice the job of taking care of Mom as any Nursing home ever could have.  He even went as far as inventing things and the way of doing things to help out with her daily care.  I admire him for the love and care that he gave her, right up to the end...........

After the funeral was over we did catch up with some of our friends.  We even made a family trip to the new bar that our Daughter Jennifer is working at....................

Not the greatest pic, a little blurry...............

We even Crashed the "Card Club" dinner !

While we were in Detroit, the resort used the new pavilion for the Memorial Day Festival.  Looks like they had a good time !

We even made it back to Royal Oak to hang out with our hometown friends, Scott and Alicia.  We went to the B-spot for Dinner.........
Cool overhead art that reminded me of my Model making days as a kid,.....

And then to Ale Mary's for a tasty Bourbon Barrel Stout (15.5% !!), mmmmmm !

Everything seemed to go by so fast.  I will try to update the blog a little more often as things settle back down...........................

More to come............................
