Friends, Brew Pub Tours, and GNP ! BUSY !!

I can not believe that this is already August 21st !  The Summer is flying by !!  This last week we had some of our best friends from back home come out for a visit, the Loves (Scott and Aliesha) and the Browns (Scott and Patty).  The Loves arrived last Saturday.  We hung out with them, caught up, and had an awesome dinner at Finley Point Grill.  On Sunday we headed down to Missoula to pick up the Browns.  On the way down we stopped at the lower Mission Falls and the Mission Reservoir with the Loves........................

We then shot down to the Airport to pick-up the Browns.  They had all rented "the Secret Service Vehicle" so that we could all explore together........here are some agents now.................

From the Airport we commenced on an 8 brewery tour with a stop for lunch.........here are some of the pics.  We did Group selfies in front of all the breweries, but I will spare you all of them.......

You get the idea.  On Monday we went up to Glacier National Park.  This is in my opinion one of the most beautiful places on this Earth.  The whole group agreed.  I was worried that the views would be covered by smoke because there are fires all over the Northwestern US that have been putting smoke in our area.  Be we lucked out and it was a beautiful day.  Not more that a mile or two from the gate we saw a pretty good sized Black Bear along side the road, but he was gone before we could get a pic.  Here are some pics of the Park........................

And here is one of us love birds.............................

And if you have a "Little Captain" in you...................

And another one of the Love Birds....................

On Tuesday we took a hike to Lower Crow Creek Falls.  They were much different than the last time we were there, as the water levels were very low........................

In the afternoon we borrowed a Pontoon Boat from the Resort Owners and went out on Flathead lake.  Once we were out to the islands we ran across a Bald Eagle Family.  Mom, Dad, and Junior.  Of course Dad took off and here is a pic of Mom and Junior.  Junior is hard to see because they do not get their white head feathers until they are older, he is 2 trees to the left and on the bottom branch.........

Here is a shot of my motley crew.............................

Wednesday found us hitting the suds again.  We did the round the lake Brew Tour.  5 breweries, 1 distillery, and 2 bars........Here we are in Down Town Whitefish at the Great Northern............

Everybody flew out on Thursday, the Loves to Vegas (LUCKY !) and the Browns back home.  For the most part a fun time with our friends from back home.

I will leave you with 2 signs that we saw in our brewery adventures.................this one is so true......Bren you are a trooper.............................

And my favorite........(I am going there tomorrow....)..............................

More to come !

Hot and Smokey !

I figured I would title this Blog entry appropriately, Hot and Smokey.  There are a number of forest fires out here and that puts a bit of a smokey haze across the valley.  The temps are on average of 10 to 15 degrees higher than normal and the rain fall for this region is non-existent !

We worked our 4 day shift last week and also lost our excellent internet conection, both reasons why there has not been a blog entry lately.  We had a sweet deal with our next door neighbor here at the resort........she gave us her password to her Wifi (and super fast internet) and we let her dogs out to go potty when they play in all day Golf tournaments - WIN WIN.  Then Charter Net steps in and says since the RV resort no longer uses them for their TV service, they are going to cut everybody off entirely, including our sweet high speed Internet.  We are now in Internet Hell.  The RV park offers free Wifi, but it is weak at best.  Working on other options.........anyone have ideas ???

We met a couple at the park and hit it off with them.  They were doing a Fishing Trip and we joined them.  It was a beautiful day on the lake and we caught some nice Lake Trout !

We also went to Whitefish for dinner one night and it gave Brenda a reason to wear her new top that says "look at me !". It is brighter in person !  It looked good on her and her new figure !

The Restaurant had a dish that is a family tradition named Baugna Caulda, so we had to order it !

We make it with Clarified Butter, Garlic, Anchovies, Garlic, and some more Garlic.  Theirs was just ok.  They used Olive Oil instead of the butter, but the Garlic was there, and a hint of the anchovies........

We found some time to work on the Jeep.  We cut the stock fenders down a bit to give the new wheels more clearance in the woods and painted the rims black.........

Monday was Margarita Monday and a good reason to take a little drive up the shore for some $2 Drinks.........

This gal sang and her boyfriend played Harmonica.  She sounded just like Janice Joplin !

And the sunsets over the bay are beautiful !!

More to come !
